Officials with Ford Motor Company say they expect to incur $19.5 billion in charges as they end the production of electric vehicles almost a year after President Trump ended the electric vehicle government mandate signed and approved by Democratic presidents.

Creator and Publisher of the Climate Depot, Marc Morano says despite all the incentives Ford sales couldn’t get above 7 percent. “Even mandated, even with forcing people, and taking away their choice, they couldn’t get out of single digit sales.” Morano said.

He says now, reality sets in. “There’s no government subsidies coming, the EV tax credit is gone, sales are tanking.” He said.

Morano says Ford isn’t alone. Crysler and GM are also feeling the pain, forcing the companies to shift and retool their gas-powered vehicles.

Faced with mounting losses since 2023, totaling $13 billion dollars in its EV division, Ford says they will now offer gas powered, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid vehicles, aimed to pull back from loss-making assets and to redirect capital to more profitable models. “Instead of plowing billions into the future knowing these large EVs will never make money, we are pivoting. We know the US market enough where we have a lot more certainty in this second inning of reduced-emissions powertrains.” Ford CEO Jim Farley said.

Morano says this is good news for America when these so called “green” vehicles were said to be environmentally safe. “To make one TESLA size 1,000 lb. battery you had to dig up half-a-million pounds of material from the earth.” Morano said.

He says he hopes the green agenda will go away permanently and this is good news for the country.

“This is a great time for America as we are shedding this weird era that if you are not “green” you are essentially an “evil” person, and your choice was taken away.” Morano said.

He says the country has been in a “ying-yang” going back and forth the last 15 years depending on the president in office. Morano says Trump can accomplish this by one- getting rid of the ETA Carbon Dioxide Endangerment Finding Act and to withdraw the United States from the United Nations 1992 Rio Earth Summit Treaty which broadened the whole Net Zero Climate agenda.
