When President Ronald Reagan swept into office in a landslide in 1980 following the dismal Carter years, it was coined the Reagan Revolution. Now, supporters of President Donald Trump are crediting him with a revolution in only his first two months in office. Writer and political commentator Jeff Crouere says Trump has already "saved America" after just six weeks in office. "Trump has launched the greatest start to a presidential term in our nation's history," writes Crouere.
Trump's aggressive actions in his first weeks are even more pronounced coming on the heels of the Biden presidency, which was not known for bold action. In many ways, Trump has already rendered the D.C. swamp almost unrecognizable from the Biden years. "We can now forget this horrible memory, this nightmare known as the Biden presidency," says Crouere on his YouTube page. "And now we usher in better times for America...a chance for us to restore our economy, restore our position around the world, secure our border."
While the border has been a remarkable success already, other issues will take longer to solve. The economy still faces high prices and interest rates, ending the wars in Ukraine and Gaza has proven tricky, and cutting government spending and waste is running into opposition from Democrats and the courts. But, as Trump said during his address to Congress this week, "We are just getting started."
Based on what he's done so far, Trump supporters are going back much further than Reagan for a comparison. "As Sly Stallone recently said, (Trump) is like our new George Washington, and he really is," says Crouere. "He's leading another revolution. A revolution against the status quo, a revolution against the deep state, a revolution against putting America last."
