Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio will receive two of this country's greatest, with the afternoon burial of 2 veterans of WWII.

Joe Castellanos was a combat medic during the Battle of Okinawa.  He preferred not to talk about his wartime experience.  Like so many of his generation, he did the job and lived his life.  Joe made it to 100 years of age.

He never met the other serviceman, 92 year old Charlie Alfaro. He had earned two Bronze Stars in the Battle of Luzon in the Philippines.

Texans have an added reason to note the passing of Alfaro who upheld our sacred trust. A 32 year veteran of the San Antonio Police Department, officer Alfaro is the one who arrested rocker Ozzy Osbourne for peeing on the Alamo in 1982.
