They call their team "Lego Legion" and they are superheroes....teenagers from Ohio who are headed to the the Lego League's first global innovation contest. And what an innovation for this group of home schooled kids. They call it the UVeggie...capital U and V. It's a device that uses motors and Lego bricks to scrub vegetables with a UV ultraviolet light to kill bacteria in tap water. That could apply to water all around the world.
What a practical application for toy building blocks. They've already won several awards and even if they don't take the global competition prize...Lego Legion has a patent pending. You could have a UVeggie in your kitchen soon.
