Love that Tess….easy to remember and arouses a certain fondness for what is a big hunk of smart metal and material in the sky. TESS is the “Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite” that is being blasted into space on a two-year mission to discover exoplanets…..that is, to discover thousands of planets orbiting the brightest stars in the sky.
She’s a telescope and more. What TESS is expected to see and identify are planets that range in size from our own Earth to gas giants and gauge their orbits in their own stellar neighborhoods. What TESS can teach us from way out there...
An exciting thing to contemplate while we Earth-imprisoned Americans are filing taxes.
