It’s said that a pun is the lowest form of humor….but I still find such word play a lot of fun. Apparently the police department of Hamilton Canada has the same sense of humor.
The crime was actually a big one. Someone stole a load of lettuce that was valued at 45,000 dollars. Police found the stolen vehicle pulling it, but not the trailer of lettuce so they took to social media to alert the public. “romaine calm” was one line. “lettuce work together” to solve this another. My favorite was “this could be the tip of the iceberg of a major crime ring”. You see how this can continue…maybe they’ll find the culprits, catch them “red-leaf- handed” and put them in the “jail Bibbs” they should be wearing. But that’s not really my “escarole” in all this….so I’ll stop now.
