Today is the big day in Tennessee, where a special election is being held for the vacant seat in Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District.
Republican Matt Van Epps is getting a challenge from the AOC of Tennessee, radical Democrat Aftyn Behn.
"This is not a seat that should even be on the map for Democrats" said Aaron Evans, president of Winning Republican Strategies, "The fact that we're even talking about this being a competitive seat, and even being a concern, should be alarming."
It is alarming because, this was a district that President Trump won by 20 points last year.
"The challenge the Republican Party has, how do we get people who are energized about the president to show up in special elections?" Evans told KTRH, "It comes back to turnout."
Which is what the GOP is counting on, especially now that they've been made aware that Aftyn Behn ripped the city she now wants to represent, saying in the past, ""I hate the bachelorettes, I hate the pedal taverns, I hate country music. I hate all the things that make Nashville apparently an ‘it city,’"
But, if Behn somehow does win? It will send shockwaves through Washington.
"If the Democrats win, I definitely think that there's some serious conversations that are going to be had, especially focusing on the midterms" noted Evans.
In the meantime, President Trump weighed in on the magnitude of the race saying over the weekend, "The whole world will be watching."
