A family disturbance call erupted in gunfire back on December 10th when a man free on multiple bonds including for the assault of a peace officer opens fire on police in East Houston.

Video shows the suspect get out of his truck and open fire on a pursing officer.

The suspect was hit once in the abdomen. He survived and was later identified as 26-year-old Marc Anthony Limon. He was charged with aggravated assault.

The officers were not injured.

The shooting occurred around 2 p.m. on December 10th in the 10200 block of Valencia Drive in East Houston.

HPD officers had responded to a call about a family disturbance at a home, but the suspect wasn’t at the scene when police arrived. According to HPD, during the investigation, an officer saw the suspect, Limon, driving by at a distance.

Officers caught up to him and tried to conduct a traffic stop, police say, but the suspect fled and a pursuit ensued.

Police say Limon drove back to the scene of the disturbance, got out of his vehicle armed with a shotgun and fired several rounds at the officers.

The officers returned fire & hit Limon.

Limon survived his injuries and was taken into custody as well as charged for his role in the incident after he was released from the hospital.

Why was he free on bond in the first place.
