Despite being charged with murder last year, 22-year-old Davion Potts was freed on bond of just $75,000.
On Sunday, Potts was fatally shot after being followed into a convenience store in Northwest Harris County.
Sherriff Ed Gonzalez said “Potts entered the store and another unknown individual entered behind him. The individual then shoots Potts multiple times before fleeing.
The motive is unknown. The shooter is described as a tall black male, with slender build.”
Potts was charged with the December 2020 mruder of 47-year-old Travis Rowden.
“On Dec. 4, 2020, Potts fired three rounds into Rowden's truck in what investigators believe was a case of road rage. The shooting was near the intersection of N. Houston Rosslyn and Hwy 249. Potts then sped off. He was arrested four days later. Potts' murder case has now been dismissed.”
