Incidents like this will become more common because over the last year, Democrat city leaders only emboldened these far-left radicals by excusing their rioting, looting, harassment & intimidation.
The BLM/Antifa crowd will turn on these Democrats who know that many of these radical proposals like defunding the police are not feasible or popular with the electorate.
Over the weekend, video posted to social media shows far-left activists surround the car of Minneapolis City Council Vice President Andrea Jenkins and didn’t allow her to drive off until she signed a document agreeing to their demands.
The activists posted the video to Facebook.
Jenkins put out a statement after the incident saying she was "held 'hostage' against my will."
“Black pain, Black trauma, Black anger is real and justified. What is not justified is the inhumane treatment of other humans because they hold elective office. On Sunday afternoon, while attending a Pride event in Loring Park, something I’ve done on the last weekend in June for the past 20 plus years, I was verbally attacked, berated and held “hostage” against my will by a large group of angry protesters…”
The list of demands the left-wing activists demanded she sign includes:
- a Civilian Police Accountability Commission (CPAC)
- reopening death investigations involving police
- dropping charges in 2020 protests
- more transparency in Winston Smith's death
- the resignation of Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey
- to leave George Floyd Square alone.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey condemned the incident on twitter:
