This is what the grassroots thinks about Gov. Abbott.
Former President Donald Trump led the poll with 55 percent, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was in second place with 21 percent.
Even Mitt Romney and John “son of a mailman” Kasich polled better than the Texas Governor.
Romney got 0.3 percent while Kasich registered 0.1 percent
Without Trump in the poll, Gov. DeSantis soared to 43 percent, Gov. Grabbitt inched to a mere 0.1 percent.
With conservatives across the country starting to take notice of DeSantis, Gov Grabbitt is now looking to jump on the ‘ease up on state restrictions” bandwagon.
He now says “we’re working right now on evaluating when we’re going to be able to remove all statewide orders and we will be making announcements about that pretty soon.”
He put the order in place and closed bars on July 2nd.
In addition to the mask mandate, statewide orders in effect include a policy that rolls back business reopenings in a hospital region if its COVID-19 patients exceed 15% of hospital capacity for seven days. Abbott put that policy in place in last fall.
Too little, too late for Grabbitt.
