Funny, haven’t seen a CNN reporter angrily confront Gov. Cuomo like they have Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis who has done a far superior job.
“Across New York State, medical providers in recent weeks had the same story: They had been forced to throw out precious vaccine doses because of difficulties finding patients who matched precisely with the state’s strict vaccination guidelines — and the steep penalties they would face had they made a mistake.”
Cuomo had nine month to create a plan for vaccine distribution instead he was too busy working on his book about his leadership during the pandemic and playing grab ass with his brother on CNN.
New York hospitals were forced to throw vaccines away because Cuomo signed an executive order requiring providers to certify that every recipient qualifies under the current rationing protocol. If they mistakenly vaccinated someone who is later found to be ineligible, the provider faces a $1 million fine and loss of their state license.
The New York Post’s editorial board writes:
"In a single day, Israel immunizes more people against COVID-19 than New York City has in total since receiving its first vaccine shipment on Dec. 14. The two have similar populations, but 1.6 million Israelis have gotten jabbed and just 168,000 Gothamites have.
The problem is less supply than stupidity: Gov. Cuomo’s complex rules on eligibility have left clinics tossing good vaccines rather than risk fines for administering it “out of order.” And the paperwork burden slows everything down, too.
It’s madness. To reach herd immunity — and get our lives and jobs back — we need to get as many people vaccinated as quickly as possible. Quit the micromanaging over exactly who gets it when and focus on getting it done."
And don't expect the mainstream media to grill Cuomo about this because in their eyes, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is the true villain.
