Martin Tolchin, a former NY Times journalist & co-founder of Politico & The Hill is willing to say publicly what most of the mainstream journalists believe, that they truly don’t care at all about the allegations of sexual assault against Biden because their only goal is to defeat Trump.
In a letter to the editor in the NY Times, Tolchin writes:
I totally disagree with this editorial. I don’t want an investigation. I want a coronation of Joe Biden. Would he make a great president? Unlikely. Would he make a good president? Good enough. Would he make a better president than the present occupant? Absolutely. I don’t want justice, whatever that may be. I want a win, the removal of Donald Trump from office, and Mr. Biden is our best chance.
Suppose an investigation reveals damaging information concerning his relationship with Tara Reade or something else, and Mr. Biden loses the nomination to Senator Bernie Sanders or someone else with a minimal chance of defeating Mr. Trump. Should we really risk the possibility?

The truth is, they didn’t care about the allegations against Kavanaugh either. That was just used an a means to their ultimate ends of defeating Trump in any way possible.
If you were to poll the staff of CNN, NBC, Washington Post, NY Times, NPR, etc. there is no doubt that Tochin’s view would be held by an overwhelming majority.
Just look at the differences in coverage between Biden & Kavanaugh.
