Is it still "hiking" if your pants do all the work? CNN just did a big story on new A.I.-powered hiking pants that give you 40% more leg power. There's a built-in exoskeleton on each pantleg that helps you push off while going uphill. Then they lighten the load and protect your knees while coming back down. They're called "MO/GO" pants short for "mountain goat" and they're not way off on the horizon. The first orders are set to ship next year.
A start-up called Skip is making them. They teamed up with a high-end outerwear brand called Arc-teryx. You can pre-order them online. But the price tag might hurt more than ACTUAL hiking . . . $5,000 a pair. They're part of an emerging trend called "movewear." Clothing that literally helps you move around. (CNN)
