New Lawsuit Could Give States More Border Security Powers

The Biden administration has spent the better part of the last three years tiptoeing around lawsuits and court orders to avoid securing the border. Now, a lawsuit could allow the states more power to do it themselves.

The lawsuit lead by Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody and Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen, and supported by 20 states including Texas, aims to combat the Biden administration's practice of using "sue and settle" tactics to effectuate his open border policies.

Patricia Tolson told KTRH that this practice is just the Biden administration kicking the can down the road, trying to implement as much radical policy as possible before a judge finally intervenes.

Tolson believes that a victory here could solve many of these problems. She said, "These policies are destroying cities across the United States, and the vast majority of people want the border closed."

Since the Biden administration wants to use legal maneuvers to keep it open, this lawsuit is red states' way of using the legal system to give them the power to close the border themselves.
