It's no secret that while Republicans have spent recent election cycles spouting lofty rhetoric about election integrity and the sanctity of the ballot, Democrats have been running rings around them exploiting the laws and systems already in place. While the GOP's legislative efforts to fight voter fraud and to secure elections continue at both the state and federal level, critics are calling for more urgent action to win in 2024. That means embracing the same election tactics used by the left.
One of those critics is Eoin Lenihan, a writer and researcher who puts it bluntly: Conservatives, Get Busy Ballot Harvesting Or Get Busy Losing. Lenihan tells KTRH the 2020 election wasn't so much stolen as it was bought, through a massive ballot operation funded by hundreds of millions of dollars. "(Democrats) had boots on the ground and they were getting out the vote, with a massive amount of money behind the scenes to ensure the infrastructure to make that happen," he says. "And the GOP needs to match this, or else they're going to lose, simple as that."
At the center of the Dems operation is something anathema to most conservatives---ballot harvesting. "Simply, it's the practice of collecting absentee ballots directly from voters' homes, and then dropping them at polling stations," says Lenihan.
Despite Republican efforts to ban ballot harvesting, the fact is it's still legal in several states, including Pennsylvania and Arizona (both of which helped decide the 2020 election.) That is why Lenihan argues the GOP can't just sit on the sidelines complaining while Dems take advantage. "There needs to be a massive investment in getting boots on the ground in key swing states, to basically match the DNC at their dirty tactics," he says.
"You're going to have to get down in the mud and do what they do," Lenihan continues. "You're either going to win by ballot harvesting, or just be a gracious loser...and what good is that?"
