Showtime is about to launch a docuseries about The Lincoln Project, the group of conservatives (mostly former GOP operatives and strategists) who have made it their stated mission to destroy Trumpism. Founders Rick Wilson, George Conway, Steve Schmidt, John Weaver, and Jennifer Horn formed the Super PAC in 2019 to work against Donald Trump's 2020 presidential campaign, running a series of ugly ads against Trump and Trump allies.
The cable network's official synopsis describes the series as follows:
THE LINCOLN PROJECT is a five-part docu-series following a veteran group of former GOP operatives and strategists known publicly as the Lincoln Project. The fastest-growing super PAC in America, takes on the task of “saving democracy” and defeating their own party’s sitting president, Donald Trump. While working to accomplish their stated goal of “defeating Trumpism,” the group is shaken by internal upheaval, a sexual harassment scandal, and a tidal wave of negative press.
