POLL QUESTION: Will the Supreme Court give in to pressure?

If the U.S. Supreme Court's leaked memo on Roe v Wade holds true, Texas would abolish abortion within weeks of a final ruling.

Texas is among several states with a so-called "trigger" law that would ban abortion within 30 days of the high court's ruling.

State Rep. Briscoe Cain, R-Deer Park, says there's also language explaining Texas never accepted Roe v Wade in the first place.

"In Senate Bill 8, that's the Texas Heartbeat Act, and inside House Bill 1280, there's some language that reminds everyone 'The legislature finds the state of Texas never repealed, either expressly or by implication, the state statute that existed before Roe v Wade.'"

"Those statutes are actually still on the books and still enforceable," he says. "In fact, some of those are enforceable right now, but most DAs don't realize they can do something about it."

Abortionists argue extreme cases of rape or incest, but Cain doesn't buy it.

"Would they support a ban on all abortions with those exceptions? The answer I have received every time from them is 'no.' Which means they're not being intellectually honest. They don't actually care about only ending abortions of those instances."

Cain says abortion is a money-making operation for Planned Parenthood and others, which stand to lose millions without Roe v. Wade.

That leads us to the poll question this morning.
