Rahm gets COVID-19 news on live TV, leaves Memorial ahead by 6

Jon Rahm, the world No. 3 golfer, was forced to withdraw from the Memorial Tournament Saturday after testing positive for COVID-19. He had a commanding six-stroke lead at the time.

Rahm was informed of the positive test on live TV immediately after the third round. He had an impressive 64 to put himself in pole position to take home the $1,674,000 prize. He had even hit a hole-in-one in the second round.

Rahm was approached by the tournament's medical adviser after playing his final shot and was nearly reduced to tears after getting the news. The defending champ had been undergoing daily tests after coming into close contact with someone who had tested positive.

He will now have to isolate until June 15.

In the end, Patrick Cantlay beat Collin Morikawa with a playoff putt for a 275 and the tournament win.
