A tiger was caught on video Sunday as it roamed a residential Houston neighborhood around 8 p.m., prompting a neighbor to pull out what appeared to be a pistol for protection from the animal.
The big cat, wearing a collar, walked calmly around the 1100 block of Ivy Wall Drive in the Memorial area.
Another man, apparently the owner, arrives and calls out in the video, “I’ll get him, I’ll get him.”
In another video, a woman watched the standoff from inside her home.
According to some estimates, there may be as many as 5,000 tigers living in captivity across America. There are only about 3,900 remaining in the wild worldwide.
