Lawyer Rod Ponton, who works for Big Bend Law in Alpine, accidentally morphed into a wide-eyed kitten during a civil case hearing with a judge on Zoom.
“Mr. Ponton, I believe you have a filter turned on in the video settings,” presiding Judge Roy Ferguson of the 394th Judicial District Court told Ponton.
“It is,” the cat-faced Ponton responds. “And I don’t know how to remove it. I’ve got my assistant here, she’s trying to, but I’m prepared to go forward."
Eventually, Ponton figured out how to turn the filter off, and things returned to business as usual.
Ponton, who was representing the state in the case, says he was using his secretary’s computer and he was “mortified” by the mishap.
