POLL QUESTION: Does early voting hurt Republicans?

Texas is driving record early voting turnout nationwide, with more than 4 million votes counted as of Sunday.

The first week of early voting, along with absentee ballots, has already surpassed 2016's total here in Harris County.

“Some election experts are predicting we could have up 70 percent election turnout, which is pretty much unheard of in contemporary politics in the U.S.,” she says. “In 2016, we barely hit 60 percent.”

“At this point, it looks like it's benefitting the Democrats,” says Renee Cross, senior director of the Hobby School of Public Affairs at the University of Houston. “However, at least in recent election cycles, Republicans tend to vote on Election Day.”

That leads to our poll questions this morning.
