Protesters in Michigan took to the beach to let Governor Gretchen Whitmer know how they feel.
Yes, we said 'the beach.' And we have a good reason for it, too.
Dozens of beach-goers gathered in a “family friendly” protest against Michigan’s stay-at-home order Saturday, with one message for Gov. Gretchen Whitmer: “Let MI people go.”
The “Grand Haven Beach Bash” was initially organized in response to the closure of the beach’s parking lots on May 3rd because of the coronavirus pandemic. Overwhelming crowds ignored social distancing guidelines at the park that weekend.
Protesters were critical of Whitmer’s handling of the pandemic and want her to reopen the economy like other states.
