Surely anyone living through the past 3 years of “orange man bad” and woke and cancel cultures feels an unreality to this state of the United States. And then there’s the grinding farce of impeachment.
Did you imagine there would ever be such a solemn and important event marked by such antics? One sided testimony from opinion givers and hear-say driven activists, with changing charges that ultimately devolved into nothing that is a crime. Subpoenas not issued under proper rule of law. The accused not allowed to face the alleged accuser. Special pens handed out at a signing ceremony, House managers posing imagined conversations, projections of if’s and prosecution for thoughts and motives? But maybe the worst,watching a Chief Justice overseeing the Senate and shutting down the President’s Sixth Amendment Constitutional right to know and face his accuser. Not the universe I thought we lived in.
