Canadian liberals have succeeded in getting hockey icon Don Cherry fired after he made comments about the lack of poppies worn for Remembrance Day by recent immigrants in Ontario.
The 85-year-old hockey veteran was fired on Remembrance Day by broadcaster Sportsnet after comments made over the weekend.
This is not the first time Cherry has said something controversial. For decades he's been on TV in Canda talking about how the sport has changed because of European influence.
But this is 2019. We are all woke, and something that might actually make sense to a lot of people gets a guy fired.
