A tornado last night appears to have had a direct hit on Jefferson City, MO, and according to reports it may have caused 'catastrophic' damage.
Two local hospitals were reportedly treating a total of about 100 people for unspecified injuries.
According to the National Weather Service, a “confirmed large and destructive tornado” was seen over Jefferson City, at 11:43 p.m., moving northeast at 40 mph.
The twister appeared to have traveled through the center part of town, the Jefferson City News-Tribune reported.
Elsewhere, three people died in a twister that hit near Golden City, MO.
