(Detroit, MI) -- An African-American man is the president of a Detroit-based neo-Nazi group.
Civil rights advocate James Stern of California took over legal ownership of the National Socialist Movement.
Stern say it's to dismantle it. Stern adds that the previous leader of the group turned it over to him as a way to escape liability from a lawsuit out of the deadly Charlottesville rally in 2017.
Stern now says he wants to change the group into an anti-racism organization.
The NSM is reportedly one of the oldest and largest of its kind in the country.
