PHOTOS: NBA Legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Auctioning Off Personal Memorabilia

NBA legend KAREEM ABDUL-JABBAR is parting with HUNDREDS of pieces of personal memorabilia . . . FOR THE KIDS.  All the stuff will be up for auction. . . with "much" of the proceeds going to his Skyhook Foundation charity, which is focused on helping young kids learn about science, technology, engineering, and math.

Kareem is selling off some amazing stuff. . .including four of his six NBA championship rings, game-worn jerseys, trophies, a game-used and signed basketball from his final game in 1989, and various 'keys to cities' that he's received.

Kareem insists he's NOT having any financial problems.

He says, quote, "Instead of gazing at the sparkle of jewels or gold-plating celebrating something I did a long time ago, I'd rather look into the delighted face of a child holding their first caterpillar and think about what I might be doing for their future."
