Dog Who Froze to Death Thrown Away in Dumpster

A dog in Indianapolis apparently froze in the frigid temperatures and had its body disposed of in a dumpster.

A person contacted authorities to check on the welfare of the canine, and found it in the dumpster of an apartment building deceased.

"The small area where the dog spent its last hours had a frozen water bowl and gave you a glimmer of the painful days and nights it suffered before freezing to the ground of its doghouse," a post on Facebook said.

To have a pet outside in temperatures below 20 degrees is illegal in Indianapolis.

A neighbor commented on the situation saying they did not know how long the dog was left outside.

What should be done to the owner of the dog? Should animal cruelty be a felony?
