(Ernul, NC) -- A missing three-year-old boy in North Carolina is alive and well after disappearing Tuesday. Craven County Sheriff Chip Hughes said they got a tip about where Casey Hathaway might be located and the first officer on scene immediately heard Casey calling for his mother. Hughes said the "little fella is happy" to be back with his family.
Casey's mother said she was overjoyed. She said Casey is up and talking and has already asked to watch Netflix. Casey went missing on Tuesday while playing in the backyard of his grandmother's home with two friends. His friends came inside but he remained outside. Hundreds of volunteers helped in searching the difficult terrain near Ernul. Temperatures dropped below freezing the night Casey went missing.
