Another US service member has been killed in what Central Command calls a "controlled explosion" in Iraq.
This is in addition to news on Sunday that the remains have been found that are likely to be those of a soldier who was missing following an Iranian attack in Jordan -- an attack in which two other US service members were killed, which the Pentagon reported on Saturday.
Officials said the unidentified woman killed in northern Iraq was taking part in a blast intended to destroy a downed Iranian attack drone yesterday, July 18.
In a brief phone call with NewsNation, President Donald Trump said the troops died “in service of our country” and reiterated that the war’s central objective is “never allowing Iran to have a nuclear weapon.”
The Pentagon also said Sunday that US military personnel who've been searching for a missing service member following an Iranian attack in Jordan have now found unidentified remains at the search site.
Officials say the process of identifying the remains is underway.
