The Texas Department of Public Safety has announced a new rule change for those seeking a commercial driver’s license.
Knowledge exams for the Texas CDL will now be issued only in English, which will help ensure compliance with federal English language proficiency requirements for truckers.
This has been a hot-button issue for several months, following multiple high-profile cases of immigrant truckers who spoke little to no English being involved in major accidents, some that resulted in deaths.
One such case was in Florida, where investigators say an illegal alien made an illegal U-turn, which resulted in all lanes of traffic on the road being blocked and a major crash that killed three Americans.
