According to reporting from multiple outlets, including Fox News, negotiators for the United States and Iran have agreed to extend the current ceasefire by 60 days.
That memorandum and ceasefire extension would also initiate the beginning of negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program.
According to Fox, the deal now just needs President Trump’s final approval.
Hours after this news broke, Iranian state media claimed it shot down an American plane. Two U.S. officials told Fox News on Thursday that no American assets were shot down by Iran
“Not true,” one U.S. official told Fox News when asked about the report.
The denial comes amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran following recent drone interceptions near the Strait of Hormuz and ongoing negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program.
