According to a new Pew research survey, a growing number of Americans say 'religion' is gaining influence in our society.
"It's always good that people are becoming more religiously sensitive, and more aware that there's more to life" said Dr. Shannon Holzer, professor at Houston Christian University.
The reality is, more and more people are realizing that putting their faith in politics or the government, or even the culture, isn't working.
"Secularism is just so unsatisfactory" Dr. Holzer told KTRH, "It's unsatisfying, and it doesn't answer the basic questions of life as to why we are here."
The survey found that 37 percent of Americans now say that religion is gaining influence in American life, which is a 19-point increase over the last two years, and the highest mark since 2002.
It also coincides with the Trump administration's upcoming “National Jubilee of Prayer, Praise & Thanksgiving,” where Americans will rededicate the country to the Creator and seek His guidance for the next 250 years.
