Texas Democratic Senate Nominee James Talarico trails John Cornyn in the latest polling, but it's close; too close for comfort.
New polling from Texas Southern University shows that John Cornyn would narrowly lead Talarico in a hypothetical November matchup, with 45% of likely voters supporting Cornyn compared to 44% for Talarico. Another 8% said they remain undecided.
The race gets even tighter if Ken Paxton becomes the Republican nominee. In that scenario, the survey found Paxton and Talarico tied at 45% each among likely voters.
Early voting is underway and runs through Friday. Election Day is on the 26th.
