Trump Says He's 'Seriously Considering' Making Venezuela 51st State

Before leaving for China, President Trump told Fox News that he is "seriously considering" making Venezuela the 51st state.

"Wanting to have a government in Venezuela that would co-operate on migration, trans-national gangs, oil production, and broader geopolitics in the region, it seems like a slam dunk" said Ben Whedon, reporter with 'Just The News'.

A slam dunk in theory, but would it actually happen?

"Anything's on the table with President Trump, he said this about Greenland, he said this about Canada" Whedon told KTRH, "What Trump himself seems to be mostly concerned about is, does the U.S. more or less have unrestricted ability to get a hold of the resources."

The ultimate goals are the resources, cooperation, military access, U.S. business access, and dealing with gangs and deportations.

"I don't see Venezuela winding up the same color on the map as the United States, but drifting into the general orbit and cooperating as though they were" noted Whedon.

President Trump also said he's open to running for president of Venezuela, after he leaves the White House.
