The Houston Fire Department has suspended their search for the night after a person was reportedly swept away by water in Brays Bayou.
HFD says the call came from witnesses in the 9200 block of Chimney Rock, where a woman was seen struggling in the water. Authorities said the water was moving around 12 knots, which is enough to overpower an average swimmer.
Rescue boats, drones and dive teams assisted all afternoon in the search, which spans all the way down to Almeda Road near the Medical Center.
The search is suspended for the night and will continue tomorrow.
No other details have been released.
