Investigators are saying it was likely a robbery attempt in which the victim turned the tables on the would-be robber.
On Harris County's northwest side, the driver of a white Tesla sedan told sheriff's deputies that another man was attempting to rob him when he shot the would-be robber.
Both men were detained by investigators, who are trying to understand the circumstances that led to the shooting.
The extent of injuries is unclear.
The shooting happened just before noon Tuesday near the intersection of Champion Forest and Bammel North Houston.
