Just like the attempted assassination of President Trump in Butler back in 2024, the left is already blaming President Trump for his own attempted assassination at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, rather than taking responsibility for their rhetoric.
There are many possible reasons for this, but one of the biggest is likely the simple fact that this latest attack on President Trump could lead to him and the GOP getting more sympathy and support—and that’s something the Democrats simply can’t afford in a major midterm election.
According to Tim O’Brien, a writer for PJ Media: “The process is repeating itself. They want to muddy the waters by raising all kinds of new issues and getting people to quit paying attention to what just happened.”
Essentially, they want you to be more focused on the supposed fact that Donald Trump brought all this on himself, rather than noticing the shocking truth that the president just survived his third close call assassination attempt in less than three years.
O’Brien went on to say that this is far from the first time the left has opted to victim-blame after a major tragedy. “It’s not just this shooting,” he said. “It’s this constant pattern of the Democrats trying to distract the public from what’s important.”
He went on to say that the Democrats are indeed counting on the fact that people tend to have short memories, so they can get right back to their extreme rhetoric shortly. The Republicans, he says, need to make sure that people don’t just forget about all this.
