Are Republicans As Motivated For The Midterms As Democrats Are?

With a little over 6 months to go until the November midterms, the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) just reported it's biggest fundraising quarter ever. But money is not the GOP's problem.

"From what I'm hearing, from a lot of conservative grassroots on the ground is, they may sit this one out because they feel like they got a bad bill of goods from the Republican campaign promises of 2024" said Matt Kittle, senior elections correspondent for The Federalist.

One of the biggest problems, has been the failure to pass the SAVE Act. Something that House Republicans have done multiple times, but the struggle continues in the Senate.

"It's an 80/20 issue, including independents and Democrats" Kittle told KTRH, "That's a big loss for Republicans right now, but there are other things."

And now, it's a voter motivation problem.

"The GOP has to do a much better job at messaging the real successes they've had" noted Kittle, "The problem right now is motivating their base to get out like they did in 2024."

Another problem right now, Republicans are now trailing some Democrats in generic preference polls.
