President Trump has posted to Truth Social, blasting the Obama/Biden-era JCPOA, also known as the “Iran Nuclear Deal.” He says any deal that he makes with Iran will be much better and will actually ensure they don’t get their hands on a nuclear weapon.
According to President Trump’s post, the JCPOA actually made it easier for Iran to go nuclear rather than stopping them. “It was a guaranteed road to a nuclear weapon, which will not, and cannot, happen with the deal we’re working on. They actually gave $1.7 billion dollars in ‘green’ cash, loaded into a Boeing 757, and flown to Iran for Iranian leadership to spend anyway they saw fit,” Trump said.
He went on to say that any deal he makes will guarantee peace, security, and safety for the entire Middle East, as well as Europe, the United States, and the rest of the world. President Trump’s team is expected to negotiate with Iran in Islamabad, Pakistan, at some point this week as the end of the two-week ceasefire in the Strait of Hormuz approaches.
