There's been a lot of controversy over the group of House Republicans pushing the 'Dignidad Act' for illegal aliens. But one conservative commentator has come up with alternative idea.
How about a 'Dignity Act' for actual Americans?
"I would like to see our right to participate as citizens, respected" said Kurt Schlicter, senior columnist at Townhall.com, "It's extremely insulting, and it's actually worse than amnesty. I find it very disrespectful for people to lie to my face."
The group is led by Florida Republican Rep. María Elvira Salazar, who is tried to get the bill passed before. But this time, is especially not a good time, as it goes against everything conservatives voted for.
"That I want to be part of my own government, that I want to govern my own country with my fellow citizens somehow is an attack on the dignity of strangers, who didn't have enough respect to obey our laws when they came here? No, no, no" Schlicter told KTRH.
And 'no' is expected to be the answer, if the 'Dignidad Act' even gets a vote in the House.
