Following the suspension of Fort Bend County Judge K.P. George, who was recently convicted of felony money laundering, Daniel Wong has been sworn in to replace him.
George’s conviction made him ineligible to hold the office of Fort Bend County Judge, and he was formally suspended last Friday.
Daniel Wong, a former Sugar Land City Council member, won the 2026 GOP nomination in the County Judge race, defeating George, who switched from the Democrat Party to the Republican Party last year.
Wong will now finish out George’s term as he continues to run for a full term in November.
He was appointed to the interim position by Judge Jeth Jones.
