Police responded this morning to a lockdown at Splendora High School in Montgomery County. Officials are asking parents not to come to campus.
The lockdown then been moved to “SECURE HOLD” status, with administration and Splendora ISD police originally investigating a reported physical fight involving a student and a staff member. We now know this to be a hoax fabricated by a teacher at the school.
53 year-old Nicole Truelove was identified as the teacher responsible for the hoax, and has been charged with filing a false police report, and felony tampering with evidence.
Officials now say that the whole thing was a hoax, and the injury the teacher suffered was self inflicted.
Details are limited at this time. The district said it would be sending out an update to parents soon.
