Immigration enforcement operations appear to be taking a new turn, with a greater focus seemingly being placed on workplace enforcement across the United States.
A prime example of these workplace enforcements is a widely reported instance of DHS spreading a rumor to illegal aliens that they could renew their commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs) at a particular DMV in Pennsylvania, only for the illegal aliens to be met with ICE agents at the facility.
Similar operations were also carried out in Washington.
Breitbart’s Bob Price says operations like this have a number of major advantages, one of which is getting them off the roads. “Many people have died in the United States as a result of these truck drivers being on the road who don’t speak our language and don’t understand our road signs,” he said.
Price also explained that, as well as reducing the number of current illegal aliens, this could also help reduce future illegal immigration. “This effort to show that you can’t get away with working illegally in this country is a step towards stopping the magnet that draws these people here,” he said.
Unfortunately, these efforts might not be enough, with Price saying action also needs to be taken against the employers hiring illegal aliens, which is a crime in and of itself. He said that if these employers aren’t heavily fined or even arrested, they’ll just keep hiring more illegal aliens.
