President Trump Lifts Regulations Mandating the Sale of Summer Blend Gas

In an effort to maintain affordability, the Trump White House and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and in accordance with the Clean Air Act (CAA), issued a temporary emergency fuel waiver to allow the oil refineries and retailers to pass along the savings in costs to consumers.

Owner of Pecos Country Energy, R.T. “Rey” Trevino, says this is a move in the right direction for the industry and for Americans. “We will see some change at the gas at the pump- probably closer to 5 to 6 cents on average per gallon. This will help consumers in the long run- by no longer making oil and gas companies jump through hoops. They are not helpful to the environment, and it just hinders the oil and gas companies.” Trevino said.

He says there will be a more significant difference when the War in Iran resolves, for now, it offers a little bit of relief.

“When oil and gas prices are lower- the rest of the economy is in a better place- lowering the cost of overall cost of all goods.” He said.
