Investigators have released new details on a man who wanted to just enter a Houston-area elementary school wearing tactical gear without even identifying himself.
Klein Independent School District in northwest Harris County has stepped up security patrols after the man tried to get into Zwink Elementary on Tuesday.
He asked school employees at the front office a question about the school's security, according to a police report, but the security system itself kept the man from actually getting into the school rooms and hallways.
The 39-year-old was taken to jail Wednesday at his home address not far from the school, telling police he is a security guard although a police search revealed he's unemployed.
The school waited until after the man, identified as Kyle Chris, was taken into custody, and although parents were alarmed that the school waited that long to notify them, Klein ISD official said they wanted the FBI and other law enforcement officials to get a full investigation underway.
