President Trump has held off on making an endorsement in the hotly contested race for the GOP nomination in Texas' 2026 Senate race, but following election night yesterday, that might change.

Thanks largely to Representative Wesley Hunt joining the race, neither Attorney General Ken Paxton, or incumbent Senator John Cornyn where able to clear the 50% or more of the vote, which means they'll both compete again in a May runoff.

President Trump announced today via TruthSocial that he will be making an endorsement in that race "soon," and will ask the candidate that he does not endorse to drop out of the race in the interest of ensuring a defeat for Democrat Senate Nominee State Rep. James Talarico.

According to Trump's post, "We have an easy to beat, Radical Left Opponent, and we have to TOTALLY FOCUS on putting him away, quickly and decisively!"
