Wearing a red 'Gulf of America' hat, President Trump spoke to a big crowd at the port of Corpus Christi, about 'American Energy Dominance'. It was the President's first -outdoor- speech since June of 2025.
"On day one I declared a national energy emergency, I ended the Biden export ban and I told our great Texas energy workers to very simply, drill baby drill" Trump told the crowd as they cheered and chanted USA-USA.
President Trump also praised the state of Texas for "thriving under Republican leadership". The White House actually backed it up with new data on a number of issues.
The average Texas family is saving over $4,000 on taxes this year under the Working Families Tax Cuts Act, passed by Republicans. The administration also projected wages could go up $6,900 per person over the next several years, and they hope to protect 580,000 jobs in Texas.
The average price for gas in Texas is now at $2.60 a gallon, which is down more than $2 per gallon, or 44%, from Biden's record high.
And if that's not enough, the average home price in Texas went down 2.4% over the past year.
President Trump did not back a candidate in the Texas Senate Republican primary, between incumbent Sen. John Cornyn, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and US Rep. Wesley Hunt from Houston.
