For the second year in a row, Houston-area Representative Al Green was ejected from an address by the President to a joint session of Congress after disrupting the speech.
This time, Green was ejected for holding up a banner that read “BLACK PEOPLE AREN’T APES” as Trump entered the House chamber. Green remained standing with the banner as Trump began to speak and was then ejected by the Sergeant at Arms.
Now it looks like members of the Republican caucus are once again moving to censure Green for his behavior. Fox News Digital reports that Rep. Mike Rulli, a Republican from Ohio, is looking for other members to support a censure resolution.
Green was censured by the House in a 224–198 vote last year after he repeatedly interrupted the president and brandished his cane at him, which also resulted in him being removed from the chamber.
